How a Father Shot His 7-year-old Boy

This is a tragedy, and my heart goes out to the father in this incident. But this could have been easily prevented, but not via gun control. The problem we have in this country is a lack of gun safety education. This man broke two of the cardinal laws of gun safety. (1) Treat all firearms as if they are loaded, even when you think they are not. (2) Always know where your firearm is pointed. He likely broke another cardinal law - (3) Keep your finger off the trigger until you are ready to fire the weapon.

I just know that this incident will be used as another example of why guns are so evil and should be outlawed. In my humble opinion, we need to do away with anti-gun laws and institute educational requirements instead. Want to buy a firearm? Fine, show evidence that you attended and completed any of the following: (1) NRA Hunter Safety Course, (2) Completion of a Law Enforcement Training (POST) course, or (3) Military training with firearms. I have all three, so that obviously makes me biased.

Miley Cyrus -- Intruder With Weapon ARRESTED At Singer's Home | TMZ.com:

With all the crazies out there, I think we need a serious debate about adding scissors and knives to the list of weapons that should be banned.

Wal-Mart offer of $100 iTunes gift card for $80 is FAKE!

Wal-Mart offers $100 iTunes gift card for $80 | Apple - CNET News:

Okay, maybe "fake" is a strong word. But within minutes of reading the news of this discount, I went to WalMart's website to place an order. Their website is already saying "out of stock" - which might be understandable, except that the item being purchased is nothing but a digital download of an access code. There is nothing physical to be out of stock. Did someone at Wal-Mart make a huge P.R. mistake?

Colorado Shooting - What Really Happened?

I keep waiting for the "rest of the story" but I still haven't heard it! This guy was geared up for a big battle. He had plenty of ammo, and lots of time. We know he fired his shotgun and AR-15. He was also carrying a Glock handgun. We know this idiot killed a lot of innocent people for no apparent reason.

But what I want to know is, what happened from the time that he started shooting, and the time that he was arrested? He was geared up in protective tactical gear, and apparently stripped it off before being arrested, yet I haven't heard about how he was arrested. Did he simply realize he was a terrible shot and gave up without a fight?

My heart goes out to all those who have been touched by this tragedy, but the story doesn't add up. Anyone should have been able to kill a lot more people than he did. At close range, with everyone trapped, the casualty rate should have been much higher. I'm glad it wasn't, but I want to know why. Was this guy just totally incompetent with guns?
